Bridge of Khazad-dumThis is the scenario from "The Fellowship of the Ring" rulebook. The layout was modified slightly to fit the polystyrene packing modules that I based all the Mines of Moria terrain on. At 28" by 24" these are smaller than the layout in the rulebook. This was overcome by having a wide stairway leading off to one side straight after the entrance. This is so that the Fellowship has to move the same distance in total to get to the bridge. By delaying the arrival of the Goblins slightly and allowing them to go straight over the edge of the stairs, the scenario plays the same as in the book. The bridge was made of closed cell foam and it is removable. |

Above. The mighty Balrog makes a fearsome and powerful opponent. Without the aid of Gandalf, the Fellowship would have a hard time defeating this foe. |

Above. Bridge of Khazad-dum module. This is more spectacular if you mount this between two tables with the gap under the bridge. But just be careful to have something soft at the base of your "bottomless pit" lest the $110 Balrog accidently fall to his doom. |
