KhandThe Variags of Khand consist of tribal groups from the east. At times they allied with the Easterlings and fought for Sauron. They first appeared in the Third Age of Middle Earth and also fought at the battle of the Pelennor Fields, in front of Minas Tirith. Games Workshop have interpreted their look based on the Mongols, with some Samurai influence of sashimonos (back banners). They are lovely figures and look striking. They provide great scope for a variety of paint schemes within the one army. Each paint scheme can represent a different tribal group. |
