| What is HOTT? |
|
Hordes of the Things is a rule set for fantasy wargamming. It is based on the highly successful historical rule set De Bellis Antiquatatis (DBA) with the addition of fantasy type troop classes such as Dragons, Magicians, Heroes, and Clerics etc. Unlike other miniature Wargames, HOTT can be used for fantasy armies like Elves, science-fiction armies like Star Wars Imperial Troopers and any other army you can think of!

|
HOTT provides a fast, simple and enjoyable game of fantasy and science fiction combat, but don’t let the simplicity of the rules fool you. Like other apparently simple games like chess, once you start to play, the subtleties of the rules become more evident. It is not uncommon to see regular players doing consistently well despite bad luck |

Armies can be designed and built to match a player’s temperament and playing style. If you have the patience of Ghandi maybe a solid phalanx of blade will win the day. If you are more impetuous maybe a mass of berserking Warband is more your thing. Maybe you’re from the US “surgical strike” school and employ aerial heroes or dragons in your army's line up. |

Games 2006 HOTT displayOn Saturday the 12th of August 2006, Nunawading Wargames Association had its annual open day showcasing the variety of different games played at regular club meetings. Neil Hughes and Nick Pavlovski ran a public participation game of HOTT featuring the clash of the Blackstone Hordes and the Golden Kingdom. The display received a lot of interest with games running continuously throughout the day with players both young and old taking command of their armies (assisted by Nick & Neil) and striving for victory. The fortunes of both armies swung back and forth throughout the day and in the end honours were shared by both the Blackstone hordes & Golden Kingdom. Below is some pictures of all the action on the day. |
