| 8-Mar-08 | Croydon Meeting |
|
Have a look below at some of the activities that were played at the Croydon venue during this meeting. Hill making helped some members with new scenery. We had a visit from Gus and his son from BADGA (Bendigo And District Gamers Association) who showed off many of the figures he distributes from Urban War. Lord of the Rings had a big presence, as did Napoleonics. The Old West campaign continued south of the border. Other games such as Magic the Gathering, D&D Miniatures, Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40K missed out on photos this time around, but are commonly played at Croydon. |
| Hill Making | |||
A scenery making workshop was held to help show some of our members how to make hills. High density polystyrene was shaped with a home made hot wire cutter or a sharp craft knife. The hills were then given a brown undercoat of thick acrylic. Once dry, PVA glue was used to cover parts of the hill and green flock sprinkled on the glue to represent grass. |

| Lord of the Rings - Isengard | |||
The Ents were on the warpath in the two games of Lord of the Rings. They had to smash through the outer wall of Isengard and pass a thin screen of Orcs in the big scenario. In the other, a handful of Cave Trolls were up against the even taller Ents. |

Two games of Napoleonics were played at this meeting. The French were fighting the Prussians in one action and were up against the British in the other. The troops are all 25mm. |

| Legends of the Old West | |||
Several games were played as part of the Old West campaign. Richard Bradley's Mexican infantry fought hard, but the need to spend a turn reloading muskets after firing put them at a big disadvantage to the enemy with 6-shooters. |
