DBM/DBA Terrain
Hills
Hills are probably the most widely used terrain feature in games. DBM defines hills under two categories;
- H(G) Gentle Hills are easily defined as having gentle bare slopes (no ridges, rocks or rough bits.)
- H(S) Steep Hills - best described as anything but "gentle or bare slopes." Steep Hills do not have to steep slopes as the name implies. They can be entirely gentle slopes covered in rough going (rocks, brush?) or woods, or alternatively steep slopes covered by rough going or woods. Virtually any combination of steep or gentle slopes, covered with rough or difficult going (ie, woods, rocks, brush....etc) will constitute a Steep Hill. As long as it is not gentle and bare, its considered H(S) Steep Hill.
