15mm DBA (Exhibition) Tournament
On the day, however, we were trumped by a combination of DBM/DBR practice games, the international DBM test match and the
timing of the event itself. On top of this, my skills as an organiser were somewhat lacking so in the end the we were somewhat fortunate that there were only 10 players. Thankfully the
players themselves were good humoured and the event kicked off in good time with minimal fuss. The choice of armies was a most refreshing mix, with none of the usual dismounting knight "uber armies". After the points were tallied, it was David Laurence's Sung Chinese who triumphed, while my Early Imperials did quite well and Django Upton and Martin Foreman's pike and elephant mix proved difficult to beat.' No player went through undefeated, so there were more than one surprised face when the trophies were handed out at the end. Despite early difficulties, the day proved to be a moderate success. I would particularly like to thank the players for their patience and assistance and our sponsors at Military Simulations for their generous prize voucher.
