Craig McGarty (Middle Assyrian) vs Brad Del Munns (Hellenistic Greek). The Assyrian chariots shown here were routed and in full flight from the Greeks.
Gerry Fallon (Early Achaemenid Persian) vs Richard Stubbs (Early Achaemenid Persian). Civil war, apparently decided by an central battle between their respective sides Greek allies.
Anthony Winter (Later Hungarians) vs Glen Noonan (Early Byzantine). The Hungarians had the Byzantines nicely bottled up, managing to break the army in the last few minutes of the round.
Anthony won "Best Army" award for the Hungarians painted by himself.
Gavin Bowman (Ch'in Chinese) vs Jason Williams (Chanca). The sheer size of the Chanca army (130 elements plus Bg) combined with heavy terrain was enough to overrun the diminutive Chin.
Ian Sharp (Alexandrian Macedonian) vs Peter Barret (Hellenistic Greek). Battle of the pike phalanxes. Its interesting how they are coming back into vogue all of a sudden!
Michael Gray (Alexandrian Imperial) vs Marcus Watson (Medieval Portuguese). The expression of "pain" is written all across his face, Marcus not doing well against a Macedonian opponent. Spanish knights hard pressed against Alexander's companions.
Andrew Card (Early Byzantine) vs Alex Filewood (Kushans). An interesting battle develops as Andrew's Arab camelry attempts to contact Kushan cataphracts and Alex blocks their path with Kushan elephants.
Alex Inglis (Arab Indian) vs Michael George (Medieval Portuguese). Photos were taken in the final seconds of the game. Close-up shows dismounted knights completely overrun by the Arabs infantry and elephant.
Greg Russell (Later Pre Islamic Arab) vs Brendan Pratt (Early Hoplite Greek). A bad mismatch for these two armies. Terrain protected the Greek flanks and Arabs had no shock troops to breach the enemy shield wall.
Gary Wait (Patrician Roman) vs Bram Jakins (Serbians). The hard charging Serbians knights suffered badly against the Patricians who were backed up by an Arab ally with heaps of camelry. Poor weather also turned the roads to mud which didn't help.
Jim Armstrong (Armagnac) vs Jason Gray (Shang Chinese). I can only imagine the Armagnac were shot to pieces on the way in. The Shang were a bow-blade combo force with a single mounted element (El) and not much else to stop medieval knights.
John Metcalf (Alexandrian Macedonian) vs the invisible Martin Ossa (Teutonic Order). Despite playing 15+ bounds, the Teutonic's failed to capitalise on out-flanking the Macedonians. The game ending in a (favorable) draw to the Teutonics.
Andrew Card (Early Byzantine) vs Brett Kvisle (Lydians). The Byzantines struggled against the Lydian spear-wall backed up by knights.
The travelling Brit, Lawrence Greaves (Later Imperial Romans) vs Peter Stone (Ugaritic). Lawrence's preferred army failed to show and he was fortunate enough to acquire a Late Roman at short notice.
Martin Morgan (Ottoman Turks) vs Brett Kvisle (Lydians). The Ottoman's Serb allies appear to be in a terrible position but apparently they crashed through the Lydian spear-wall to secure victory.
Martin Morgan (Ottomans) vs Scott Nicholas (Ugaritic). The Ottomans waited patiently for the Serb allies to arrive from their flank march (shown appearing), the rest of the army hard pressed into the corner.
Paul Stanton (Patrician Roman) vs Russell Smith (Italian Condotta). A good match up for the Italians, the Roman army is pinned down with skirmishers on the right while the main Italian assault hits their left.
Richard Cornwell (Early Bulgar) vs Glen Noonan (Early Byzantine). An even match up between cavalry armies which yielded no advantage to either, finishing in a draw.
Stephen Hopkins (Medieval Germans) vs David Young (Later Pre Islamic Arab).
Tim Roe (Carolingian Frankish) vs Brenton Searle (Kassite).
Gerry Fallon's Persian Immortals.... currently recruiting again  :o Doug Melville's new Roman encampment.
